Electronic Services

The Online Branch is a remote account access service for our members that takes place, securely, over the Internet. Our members who enroll for this service will be able to view their accounts, make transfers between their accounts, make payments to Generations CU loans, and perform other miscellaneous member services.

What types of transactions can I do at the Online Branch?

  • Obtain balances and other account details on all your accounts.
  • Make transfers from your share, share drafts, and club accounts into your Share, Loan, Draft, and Club accounts.
  • Review account activity for history as available on the credit union's main computer system.
  • Make various Member Service requests, such as: check reorder, statement copies and check copies.
  • Enable e-alerts to notify you of specific transactions or occurrences on your account.
  • Register for e-Documents to view your account statements on-line.

How much do I have to pay to use the Online Branch?

Generations CU is happy to provide the Online Branch to all members free of charge.

Is the Online Branch very complicated?

The Online Branch is not difficult to use at all. On most of the web pages you just point and click, or fill in requested information. Furthermore, there is an online help function that can guide you through the system if you need assistance.

How do I enroll in the Online Branch Service?

You can request Online Branch service by submitting the Online Branch Enrollment Form on the Online Branch web site (http://www.generationscu.org). After your enrollment form has been processed, a representative from Generations Credit Union will contact you with further instructions for completion of the enrollment process.

MARS

Generations Credit Union offers a convenient, easy-to-use service that's free for the asking-it's called MARS (Member Audio Response System). Have you ever been balancing your check book late at night, wishing you could find out if a check had cleared, or when you made your last deposit, or what your account balance is that day? MARS can tell you all that and more.

MARS is available to members 24 hours a day, seven days a week with one easy phone call. It offers you immediate access to account information such as account balances, account transfers, cleared drafts, credit activity, loan payments and other transactions. With a simple call to MARS (using a touch tone phone), you can obtain this information quickly and confidentially. Rockford area members simply call: 815-316-2901. For those members who travel or live outside the Rockford area, MARS also has a toll free number for your convenience: 888-578-6277.

To begin using this service, the member must call the credit union to have their account enabled for audio usage. At that time, the member will be advised of their audio pin number. During your initial call to the MARS system, you will be required to change your pin number from the number provided by your member services representative to a 1 to 8 digit number of your choice.

VISA Check Card

A VISA check card is a must for the shopper who doesn't want the risk of carrying cash, the hassle of toting a checkbook, or the peril of running up credit card balances. With our VISA check card, you will have secure access to your checking account without writing a check.

The VISA check card is accepted everywhere you see the VISA logo; including restaurants, grocery stores, mall shops, and you can even "pay at the pump" at most gas stations. You can also use your VISA check card in participating ATM to make a cash withdrawal. Each transaction creates an electronic withdrawal from your checking account.

There is no charge for using the check card whenever you select a "credit" transaction. The credit transaction will create an electronic withdrawal from your checking account that will require your signature to complete. If you sign for the transaction, you will not be charged any fees. You should select a "credit" transaction whenever you have the option, as it will save you from any transaction fees.

When using the VISA check card, if you select a "debit" transaction, or if you are using your card in an ATM, you will be required to enter your personal identification number (PIN) to complete the transaction. You will not be charged for the first four debit transactions on your account each month. If you exceed four debit transactions in a month, you will be charged one dollar for each transaction in addition to any surcharge imposed by the source.
